- Unsalted butter, softened: 1 cup (2 sticks)
- Granulated sugar: 3/4 cup
- Brown sugar, packed: 3/4 cup
- Large eggs: 2
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Baking soda: 1 teaspoon
- Sea salt flakes: For sprinkling
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Step 3: Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 5: Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Step 6: Sprinkle the tops of the cookies with sea salt flakes. Bake for 9-11 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
