Delicious 3-ingredient date snickers recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Medjool Dates: 12, pitted
  • Peanut Butter: 1/4 cup
  • Dark Chocolate Chips: 1/2 cup
  • Flaky Sea Salt: To sprinkle
  • Peanuts, chopped: 1/4 cup
  • Coconut Oil: 1 teaspoon (optional, for melting chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Slice each date lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through. Create a pocket in the date.
  2. Step 2: Fill each date with approximately 1 teaspoon of peanut butter. Sprinkle chopped peanuts on top of the peanut butter in each date.
  3. Step 3: Melt the dark chocolate chips. You can do this in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, or in a double boiler. Stir in coconut oil, if using, for a smoother consistency.
  4. Step 4: Dip each peanut butter-filled date into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's fully coated. Alternatively, you can drizzle the melted chocolate over the dates.
  5. Step 5: Place the chocolate-covered dates on a parchment paper-lined plate or tray. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  6. Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate has set completely. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Store these date snickers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week to maintain their texture.
  • For a softer date and slightly melty chocolate, let them sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving.
  • Serve these as a delightful after-dinner treat or a sweet addition to a cheese and fruit board.
  • Don't skip the flaky sea salt; it enhances the sweetness of the dates and the richness of the chocolate, creating a truly irresistible flavor combination!
