Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 pound
- Taco seasoning: 1 packet
- Cooked rice: 2 cups
- Shredded cheddar cheese: 1 cup
- Crushed Doritos (Nacho Cheese flavor recommended): 1 bag (about 9-10 ounces)
- Diced tomatoes: 1 cup
- Shredded lettuce: 2 cups
- Sour cream: 1/2 cup
Instructions
- Step 1: Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
- Step 2: Add the taco seasoning to the cooked ground beef and stir in 1/2 cup of water. Simmer for 5-7 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed.
- Step 3: Divide the cooked rice evenly among bowls.
- Step 4: Top the rice with the seasoned ground beef, shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, and shredded cheddar cheese.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the crushed Doritos over the top of each bowl.
- Step 6: Add a dollop of sour cream to each bowl and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover components separately in airtight containers to prevent the Doritos from getting soggy.
- Reheat the ground beef and rice in the microwave; add fresh toppings after warming.
- For a spicier kick, try using Flamin' Hot Doritos instead of Nacho Cheese!
- Don't be shy with the toppings – a generous layer of cheese and Doritos really makes the dish sing.
