Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
- Eggs: 2 large
- Milk: 1 1/4 cups
- Melted butter: 1/4 cup
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Fresh Strawberries: 1 cup, sliced
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
- Step 3: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Step 4: Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Step 5: Pour the batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook until golden brown and crispy, usually 3-5 minutes per waffle.
- Step 6: Top the waffles with sliced fresh strawberries and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover waffles in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days to keep them fresh.
- Reheat waffles in a toaster or oven for the crispiest results; microwaving can make them soggy.
- For an extra burst of flavor, top your strawberry waffles with a dollop of whipped cream or a drizzle of maple syrup.
- Gently fold the strawberries into the batter right before cooking to prevent them from sinking to the bottom.
