Ingredients
- Vanilla Wafers: 1 box (12 ounces)
- Ripe Bananas: 3 medium, sliced
- Fresh Strawberries: 1 pound, sliced
- Instant Vanilla Pudding Mix: 1 package (3.4 ounces)
- Milk: 3 cups, cold
- Whipped Topping: 8 ounces, thawed
- Cream Cheese: 4 ounces, softened
- Powdered Sugar: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and milk until smooth. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken slightly.
- Step 2: In a separate bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and creamy. Gently fold this mixture into the vanilla pudding.
- Step 3: Gently fold in half of the thawed whipped topping into the pudding mixture.
- Step 4: In a trifle bowl or large glass bowl, create a layer of vanilla wafers on the bottom. Top with a layer of sliced bananas, followed by a layer of sliced strawberries.
- Step 5: Spread half of the pudding mixture over the fruit layer. Repeat layers: vanilla wafers, bananas, strawberries, and the remaining pudding mixture.
- Step 6: Top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with extra sliced strawberries. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow the flavors to meld.
Notes
- To keep the pudding fresh, cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming.
- This dessert is best served chilled, so reheating is not recommended; it's delicious straight from the fridge!
- For a delightful presentation, serve individual portions in parfait glasses to showcase the beautiful layers.
- For extra banana flavor, lightly brush the sliced bananas with lemon juice to prevent browning and enhance their sweetness.
