Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups ripe peaches, pitted and sliced
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 cup water
- 4 cups cold water
- 1 cup lemon juice (about 6–8 lemons)
- 1/2 cup lemon slices, for garnish (optional)
- Fresh mint sprigs, for garnish (optional)
- Ice cubes
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium saucepan, combine the sliced peaches, sugar, and 1 cup of water. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the peaches are softened and the sugar is dissolved (about 10-15 minutes).
- Step 2: Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the peach mixture cool slightly.
- Step 3: Once cooled, use a potato masher or immersion blender to partially mash the peaches. You can leave some chunks for texture, or blend until smooth, depending on your preference.
- Step 4: Strain the peach mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing on the solids to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the solids.
- Step 5: Stir in the 4 cups of cold water and the lemon juice. Taste and adjust sweetness if needed by adding more sugar.
- Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Serve over ice, garnished with lemon slices and/or fresh mint sprigs.
Notes
- Store leftover lemonade in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- This lemonade is best served chilled, but can be gently warmed on the stovetop if desired, just avoid boiling.
- For a sophisticated twist, serve your refreshing peach lemonade in elegant mason jars with a few ice cubes and a sprig of rosemary instead of mint.
- To intensify the peach flavor, lightly roast the peaches in the oven at 375°F (190°C) for 15-20 minutes before making the lemonade.
