Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
- Ingredients listed on cake mix box (eggs, oil, water)
- 1 (16 ounce) container chocolate frosting
- 1 cup green candy melts
- 1/2 cup brown candy melts
- 1/4 cup black candy melts
- Lollipop sticks
- Sprinkles (optional, for decoration)
Instructions
- Step 1: Prepare the cake according to the box instructions. Let the cake cool completely. Once cool, crumble the cake into a large bowl.
- Step 2: Add the chocolate frosting to the crumbled cake and mix thoroughly until a smooth, workable dough forms. If the mixture is too dry, add a tablespoon of milk at a time until desired consistency is reached.
- Step 3: Roll the cake mixture into 1-inch balls. Insert a lollipop stick about halfway into each ball.
- Step 4: Melt the green, brown, and black candy melts separately according to package directions. Dip the cake pops into the melted candy, allowing excess to drip off. You can use different colors to create a pixelated look or simply cover the whole pop in one color.
- Step 5: While the candy is still wet, add sprinkles or other desired decorations. Place the cake pops upright in a styrofoam block or other suitable container to let the candy harden completely.
