Delicious minecraft cake pops recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) cake mix (vanilla or chocolate)
  • 1 can (16 oz) vanilla frosting
  • Green candy melts, 12 oz
  • Brown candy melts, 12 oz
  • Lollipop sticks, 4 inch, approx. 24
  • Vegetable shortening, 1 tablespoon
  • Green food coloring gel (optional, for more vibrant green)
  • Parchment paper

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Bake the cake according to the box directions. Let the cake cool completely.
  2. Step 2: Crumble the cooled cake into a large bowl. Add the entire can of frosting and mix thoroughly with your hands or a mixer until a dough-like consistency forms.
  3. Step 3: Roll the cake mixture into 1-inch cubes. Place the cubes on a parchment-lined baking sheet and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to firm up.
  4. Step 4: Melt the green candy melts according to package directions, adding vegetable shortening to thin the mixture. If desired, add a tiny bit of green food coloring for a deeper green. Repeat the process with the brown candy melts in a separate bowl.
  5. Step 5: Dip the tip of a lollipop stick into the melted green candy and insert it about halfway into a cake cube. Repeat with the remaining cake cubes.
  6. Step 6: Dip each cake pop into the melted green candy, covering completely. Tap off excess candy coating. Immediately add squares of melted brown candy onto the green cake pop to create the Minecraft block effect. Place the finished cake pops on a parchment-lined baking sheet to set. Allow to harden completely before serving.

Notes

  • Store cooled and hardened cake pops in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain their texture.
  • If the candy coating softens after refrigeration, let the cake pops sit at room temperature for a few minutes before serving.
  • Arrange the Minecraft cake pops on a tiered stand or in individual paper cups for a fun and visually appealing presentation.
  • For a smoother candy coating, microwave the candy melts in short intervals (15-20 seconds) and stir frequently to prevent burning.
