- 2 lbs Turnips, peeled and cubed
- 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1/2 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon Salt (or to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon Black Pepper (or to taste)
- 1 tablespoon Fresh Parsley, chopped (for garnish, optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Step 2: Place the peeled and cubed turnips in a large bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss to coat evenly.
- Step 3: Add the garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to the bowl. Toss again until the turnips are well coated with the spices.
- Step 4: Spread the turnips in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Step 5: Roast for 25-35 minutes, or until the turnips are tender and slightly browned, flipping halfway through for even cooking.
- Step 6: Remove from oven, garnish with fresh parsley (if using), and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover roasted turnips in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet over medium heat or in a 350°F oven until warmed through.
- Serve these 'potato' stand-ins as a delicious side with roasted chicken or steak.
- For extra flavor, try adding a pinch of dried rosemary along with the other spices.
