Ingredients
Scale
- 1.5 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 2 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, cornstarch, sesame oil, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Step 2: Add the chicken cubes to the bowl and toss to coat evenly in the honey garlic sauce. Marinate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours in the refrigerator for maximum flavor.
- Step 3: Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook, stirring occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce has thickened, about 8-10 minutes.
- Step 4: If desired, for extra crispiness, you can transfer the chicken to a baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes to crisp the edges. Watch closely to prevent burning.
- Step 5: Serve immediately over rice, quinoa, or as an appetizer with toothpicks. Garnish with sesame seeds (optional).
Notes
- Store leftover chicken bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a microwave or skillet, adding a splash of water if needed to prevent drying.
- Serve these delectable bites as a flavorful addition to salads or alongside steamed vegetables for a balanced meal.
- For an extra punch of flavor, add a squeeze of fresh lime juice just before serving.
