Delicious heavenly summer peach bars recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour: 1 1/2 cups
  • Cold unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), cubed
  • Powdered sugar: 1/4 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh peaches: 4 medium, peeled and sliced
  • Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup
  • Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease and flour an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, powdered sugar, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Step 3: Press half of the flour mixture into the prepared pan to form a crust. Bake for 15 minutes, or until lightly golden.
  4. Step 4: While the crust is baking, prepare the peach filling. In a separate bowl, combine the sliced peaches, granulated sugar, and cornstarch. Toss gently to coat the peaches.
  5. Step 5: Remove the crust from the oven and spread the peach filling evenly over the baked crust. Sprinkle the remaining flour mixture evenly over the peach filling.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peach filling is bubbly. Let cool completely before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • To keep your Heavenly Summer Peach Bars fresh, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a warm, comforting treat, microwave a single bar for 15-20 seconds.
  • Serve these delightful bars with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra touch of heaven.
  • Make sure your butter is truly cold when cutting it into the flour mixture; this will create a wonderfully flaky crust.
