Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons pineapple juice
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 2 green onions, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions
- Step 1: Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn the garlic.
- Step 2: Add brown sugar, soy sauce, pineapple juice, and honey to the skillet. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer, allowing the sauce to slightly thicken. If using, add red pepper flakes at this stage.
- Step 3: Add the shrimp to the skillet and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until they turn pink and are cooked through. Gently toss the shrimp in the sauce to ensure they are evenly coated.
- Step 4: Remove the skillet from the heat and garnish with chopped green onions.
- Step 5: Serve immediately over rice, pasta, or with crusty bread for dipping. Enjoy your Hawaiian Garlic Shrimp with a Sweet Twist!
