Delicious french apple invisible cake: a slice of delight awaits! recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Apples (Gala, Honeycrisp, or Fuji): 1 kg (about 4-5 medium)
  • Eggs: 2 large
  • Granulated Sugar: 80g
  • All-Purpose Flour: 70g
  • Milk: 120ml
  • Unsalted Butter, melted: 50g
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Pinch of Salt: 1/4 teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 8-inch round cake pan.
  2. Step 2: Peel, core, and thinly slice the apples (about 1/8 inch thick) using a mandoline or sharp knife.
  3. Step 3: In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract and salt until combined. Gradually whisk in the flour until smooth, then whisk in the milk.
  4. Step 4: Add the sliced apples to the batter and gently toss to ensure all slices are well coated.
  5. Step 5: Pour the apple mixture into the prepared cake pan, spreading evenly.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean (it may still be slightly moist from the apples). Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days or in the refrigerator for up to 4.
  • For a warm, comforting treat, gently reheat individual slices in the microwave for 15-20 seconds.
  • Serve this delightful cake with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra touch of indulgence.
  • For the most "invisible" effect, use a mandoline to achieve consistently thin apple slices, ensuring they practically melt into the batter.
