Delicious easy no-bake moose farts recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Graham cracker crumbs: 2 cups
  • Icing (powdered) sugar: 1 cup, plus 1/2 cup for coating
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder: 1/2 cup
  • Sweetened shredded coconut: 1 cup
  • Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), melted
  • Milk or water: 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, combine the graham cracker crumbs, 1 cup of icing sugar, cocoa powder, and the 1 cup of sweetened shredded coconut. Stir well until all the dry ingredients are evenly distributed.
  2. Step 2: In a separate microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan, melt the butter until completely liquid, then add the milk or water to the melted butter.
  3. Step 3: Pour the melted butter mixture into the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly using a sturdy spoon or rubber spatula until a stiff, uniform dough forms. The mixture should hold together easily when pressed.
  4. Step 4: Scoop the mixture using a teaspoon or small cookie scoop, and roll it between your palms to form small, bite-sized balls (about 1 inch in diameter).
  5. Step 5: Place the remaining 1/2 cup of icing sugar in a shallow dish or plate. Roll the finished balls in the sugar until they are completely coated.
  6. Step 6: Place the "Moose Farts" on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, or until they are firm before serving.

Notes

  • Store these treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week, or freeze them for up to three months; thaw slightly before serving if frozen.
  • Do not attempt to heat these Moose Farts; they must be kept chilled until serving time to maintain their firm structure and iconic shape.
  • For a fun presentation, serve these sweet, dense treats alongside strong black coffee or a glass of cold milk, nestled in miniature cupcake liners.
  • If your mixture seems too dry after combining the ingredients, add milk or water one teaspoon at a time until the dough is just firm enough to roll smoothly without sticking to your palms.
