Ingredients
- Bread slices (your favorite kind) – 2 slices
- Butter, softened – 2 tablespoons
- Pizza sauce – 1/4 cup
- Shredded mozzarella cheese – 1/2 cup
- Parmesan cheese, grated – 1 tablespoon
- Pepperoni slices – 6-8 slices
- Italian seasoning – 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil – 1 teaspoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Spread softened butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
- Step 2: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Place one slice of bread, butter-side down, in the skillet.
- Step 3: Spread pizza sauce evenly over the bread in the skillet. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese, then arrange pepperoni slices on top. Sprinkle with Italian seasoning.
- Step 4: Top with the second slice of bread, butter-side up.
- Step 5: Grill for 3-4 minutes per side, or until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly. Use a spatula to gently press down on the sandwich to ensure even cooking.
- Step 6: Remove from skillet, let cool slightly, slice in half and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store leftover pizza grilled cheese in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For ultimate crispiness, reheat slices in a dry skillet over medium-low heat instead of microwaving.
- Serve your cheesy creation with a side of marinara sauce for dipping – extra pizza flavor!
- Brush the skillet with a thin layer of olive oil before grilling to prevent sticking and ensure a perfectly golden crust.
