Delicious divine brown butter peach cobbler: 5-ingredient magic recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
  • 45 ripe peaches, peeled and sliced (about 4 cups)
  • 1 box (15.25 oz) yellow cake mix
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Optional: Pinch of salt
  • Optional: Vanilla ice cream for serving

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish in the preheating oven. This will brown the butter. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn; it should be golden brown and smell nutty.
  2. Step 2: Remove the baking dish from the oven. Evenly spread the sliced peaches over the browned butter. Sprinkle the brown sugar and cinnamon over the peaches.
  3. Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix and milk. Stir until just combined; do not overmix. The batter will be thick.
  4. Step 4: Drop spoonfuls of the cake mix batter evenly over the peaches. The batter does not need to completely cover the peaches.
  5. Step 5: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the peaches are bubbly. Let cool slightly before serving.
  6. Step 6: Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream, if desired.

Notes

  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator, covered, for up to 3 days; the topping may soften slightly.
  • Reheat individual portions in the microwave for 30-60 seconds, or until warmed through, for the best texture.
  • Serve warm cobbler with a dollop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of heavy cream to complement the brown butter flavor.
  • Don't overcrowd the baking dish with peaches, as this can prevent the topping from browning properly – a single layer is best!
