- 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 (10 ounce) package large marshmallows
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: In a large saucepan, melt the butter over low heat.
- Step 2: Add the marshmallows and cocoa powder to the melted butter, stirring constantly until the marshmallows are completely melted and smooth.
- Step 3: Remove the pan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract and salt.
- Step 4: Gently fold in the Rice Krispies cereal until evenly coated.
- Step 5: If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
- Step 6: Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch pan. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

- Store leftover squares in an airtight container at room temperature to keep them chewy.
- For a quick chocolate boost, drizzle melted chocolate over the cooled squares.
- Serve these treats with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra decadent dessert.
