Delicious chocolate ganache recipe recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Heavy cream, 1 cup
  • Semi-sweet chocolate chips, 8 ounces
  • Unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons
  • Light corn syrup, 1 tablespoon (optional, for extra shine)
  • Vanilla extract, 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered sugar, 1-2 tablespoons (optional, for desired consistency)
  • Sea salt, pinch (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Finely chop the semi-sweet chocolate chips and set aside.
  2. Step 2: In a medium saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer (small bubbles around the edges). Do not boil.
  3. Step 3: Remove the cream from the heat and immediately pour it over the chopped chocolate chips. Let it sit for about 1 minute to allow the chocolate to soften.
  4. Step 4: Gently whisk the cream and chocolate together until smooth and glossy. Stir in the butter, corn syrup (if using), and vanilla extract until fully incorporated.
  5. Step 5: If the ganache is too thick, add a teaspoon or two of heavy cream until you reach your desired consistency. If it's too thin, add powdered sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until it thickens. Stir in a pinch of sea salt (optional).
  6. Step 6: Let the ganache cool slightly before using. It will thicken as it cools.

Notes

  • Store leftover ganache in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • For a perfectly smooth reheating, gently microwave in short intervals, stirring frequently, to avoid seizing.
  • Drizzle the luscious ganache over your favorite brownies, cakes, or even fresh berries for an elegant dessert.
  • Using high-quality chocolate will significantly elevate the flavor profile of your ganache, so splurge on the good stuff!
