  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 (10 ounce) package marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 5 cups Rice Krispies cereal
  • 1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 1 cup dried cherries
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: In a large saucepan over low heat, melt butter. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth. Remove from heat.
  2. Step 2: Stir in vanilla extract. Add Rice Krispies cereal and dried cherries; mix until well coated. If using, stir in pecans.
  3. Step 3: Press the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking pan.
  4. Step 4: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine semisweet and milk chocolate chips. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth.

  6. Step 6: Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to set before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Store these treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or in the refrigerator for up to a week to maintain freshness.
  • For a gooey center, briefly microwave individual squares for 5-10 seconds before serving.
  • Serve these delightful treats alongside a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra decadent dessert.
  • To prevent the chocolate from seizing, ensure the marshmallow mixture is completely cool before pouring the melted chocolate over it.
