Ingredients
- Beef Sirloin, thinly sliced: 1 pound
- Broccoli florets: 4 cups
- Soy sauce: 1/4 cup
- Brown sugar: 2 tablespoons
- Cornstarch: 2 tablespoons
- Garlic, minced: 2 cloves
- Ginger, minced: 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, cornstarch, minced garlic, and minced ginger. Set aside.
- Step 2: Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over high heat. Add the sliced beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.
- Step 3: Add the broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry until tender-crisp, about 3-5 minutes. Add a tablespoon of water and cover the skillet for the last minute to steam the broccoli if needed.
- Step 4: Pour the soy sauce mixture into the skillet with the broccoli and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
- Step 5: Return the cooked beef to the skillet and stir to combine with the broccoli and sauce. Heat through for another minute.
- Step 6: Serve hot over rice.
Notes
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat gently in a skillet over medium heat, adding a splash of water if the sauce has thickened too much.
- For a complete meal, serve over fluffy steamed rice and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
- To prevent tough beef, ensure your wok is very hot before adding the sliced sirloin and avoid overcrowding the pan.
