Ingredients
Scale
- 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, powdered sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined. If using, stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Step 3: Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
- Step 4: Roll each ball in powdered sugar, ensuring it's fully coated. Place the coated balls onto the prepared baking sheets, leaving about 2 inches between each cookie.
- Step 5: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set and slightly cracked.
- Step 6: Let cookies cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze them for longer storage.
- For a warm, gooey center, reheat individual cookies in the microwave for 5-10 seconds.
- Serve these delightful cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
- To prevent the cookies from sticking to the baking sheet, use a silicone baking mat instead of parchment paper for easier cleanup.
