- 1 box (15.25 ounces) chocolate cake mix
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (optional)
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine cake mix, powdered sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract. Mix until just combined; do not overmix. Stir in chocolate chips and/or nuts, if desired.
- Step 3: Roll dough into 1-inch balls.
- Step 4: Roll each ball in powdered sugar until completely coated.
- Step 5: Place cookies 2 inches apart on the prepared baking sheets.
- Step 6: Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until edges are set and centers are still slightly soft. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Store these cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze them for longer storage.
- For a warm, gooey center, reheat individual cookies in the microwave for 5-10 seconds.
- Serve these decadent cookies with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra special treat.
- To prevent the cookies from spreading too thin, ensure the dough balls are firmly packed before rolling them in powdered sugar.
