Delicious brussel sprouts with turkey bacon recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Brussel Sprouts: 1 pound
  • Turkey Bacon: 6 slices
  • Olive Oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic: 2 cloves, minced
  • Balsamic Vinegar: 1 tablespoon
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black Pepper: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red Pepper Flakes: 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). While oven preheats, trim the ends off the brussel sprouts and cut them in half.
  2. Step 2: Chop the turkey bacon into 1/2-inch pieces. Heat a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add the turkey bacon and cook until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
  3. Step 3: Add the olive oil to the skillet with the bacon fat. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Add the halved brussel sprouts to the skillet and toss to coat with the oil and garlic. Season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. Step 4: Spread the brussel sprouts in a single layer in the skillet. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and roast for 20-25 minutes, or until the brussel sprouts are tender and slightly browned, flipping halfway through.
  5. Step 5: Remove the skillet from the oven. Stir in the crispy turkey bacon and balsamic vinegar. Toss to combine.

Notes

  • Store leftover brussel sprouts in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For best results when reheating, spread the sprouts on a baking sheet and warm in a 350°F oven to re-crisp the turkey bacon.
  • These brussel sprouts make a flavorful side dish alongside roasted chicken or pork.
  • Don't overcrowd the skillet when roasting; for extra crispy sprouts, use a larger pan or roast in two batches.
