Ingredients
- Thick-cut Brioche Bread: 6 slices
- Milk: 1/2 cup
- Heavy Cream: 1/4 cup
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
- Sprinkles: 1/4 cup, plus more for topping
- Funfetti Cake Mix: 2 tablespoons
- Butter: 2 tablespoons
Instructions
- Step 1: In a shallow dish, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, eggs, vanilla extract, funfetti cake mix, and sprinkles.
- Step 2: Heat a lightly oiled griddle or large skillet over medium heat.
- Step 3: Dip each slice of brioche bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Allow excess to drip off.
- Step 4: Place the soaked bread onto the hot griddle and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Step 5: Transfer the French toast to plates and top with extra sprinkles. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Leftover French toast can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
- Reheat the French toast in a toaster oven or skillet for the best texture; microwaving can make it soggy.
- A dollop of whipped cream and a cherry on top will make this already festive breakfast feel even more like a birthday celebration!
- For an extra flavorful custard, let the batter rest for 10 minutes after mixing to allow the cake mix to fully dissolve and infuse.
