Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails optional)
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
- 4 cloves fresh garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup finely grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- Salt and black pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Step 3: Add the peeled shrimp and half of the grated Parmesan cheese to the butter mixture, tossing gently until the shrimp is evenly coated.
- Step 4: Spread the seasoned shrimp onto the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring there is minimal overlap. Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese evenly over the top of the shrimp.
- Step 5: Bake for 8 to 12 minutes, or until the shrimp is pink, opaque, and cooked through. Avoid overcooking, as the shrimp can become rubbery.
- Step 6: Remove the sheet from the oven, garnish the shrimp with the fresh chopped parsley, and serve immediately.
Notes
- Store cooled leftovers in an airtight container for a maximum of two days; note that the chilled shrimp texture will be noticeably firmer.
- Skip the microwave; gently reheat leftovers in a non-stick skillet over low heat, or briefly in a 250°F oven, to avoid turning the delicate shrimp rubbery.
- For the ultimate meal, serve the warm shrimp immediately over creamy polenta, angel hair pasta, or alongside crusty bread perfect for soaking up the remaining butter sauce.
- To ensure the best melting and richness, use freshly grated Parmesan cheese rather than pre-shredded varieties, which often contain anti-caking agents.
