- Apples, peeled and sliced: 4 medium
- Pears, peeled and sliced: 2 medium
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup
- Rolled oats: 3/4 cup
- Brown sugar: 3/4 cup
- Butter, cold and cubed: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
- Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
- Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears. Sprinkle with lemon juice and 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Toss to coat, then transfer to the prepared baking dish.
- Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon.
- Step 4: Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the fruit in the baking dish.
- Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is tender and bubbling. Let cool slightly before serving.
