Delicious apple pear crisp recipe with detailed instructions and nutritional information.

  • Total Time: 35 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings

Ingredients

  • Apples, peeled and sliced: 4 medium
  • Pears, peeled and sliced: 2 medium
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Rolled oats: 3/4 cup
  • Brown sugar: 3/4 cup
  • Butter, cold and cubed: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
  • Cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon juice: 1 tablespoon

Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9-inch baking dish.
  2. Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples and pears. Sprinkle with lemon juice and 1/4 teaspoon of the cinnamon. Toss to coat, then transfer to the prepared baking dish.
  3. Step 3: In a separate bowl, combine the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and remaining cinnamon.
  4. Step 4: Cut in the cold, cubed butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  5. Step 5: Sprinkle the crumb mixture evenly over the fruit in the baking dish.
  6. Step 6: Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is tender and bubbling. Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Store leftover crisp, tightly covered, in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • For a warm, gooey treat, reheat individual portions in the microwave for 30-60 seconds.
  • Serve warm apple pear crisp with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for extra indulgence.
  • For the best crumb topping, ensure your butter is very cold before cutting it into the dry ingredients.
