Ingredients
Scale
- 1 fresh pineapple, peeled, cored, and cut into 1-inch rings or chunks
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mix well.
- Step 3: Add the pineapple rings or chunks to the bowl and toss to coat them evenly with the brown sugar mixture.
- Step 4: Arrange the pineapple in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking. You may need to cook in batches.
- Step 5: Air fry for 8-10 minutes, flipping the pineapple halfway through, until tender and caramelized.
- Step 6: Drizzle with honey (if using) and serve warm. Enjoy as a dessert or side dish.
Notes
- Store leftover caramelized pineapple in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Reheat in the air fryer for a few minutes until warmed through, or microwave in short bursts to prevent it from becoming too soft.
- Serve warm caramelized pineapple with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or as a topping for grilled chicken or pork.
- For extra flavor depth, let the pineapple marinate in the brown sugar mixture for at least 30 minutes before air frying.
